Out and about

If you want to find out a bit more about what we’ve got planned, come see us in person. We’ve got some upcoming appearances and conferences we’re attending where we’ll undoubtedly let slip a secret or two:

This Saturday, February 10, Amy and Thor will be in attendance at the CommunityNext conference down on the Stanford Campus in lovely Palo Alto. A couple weeks later, on Friday, February 23, I’m speaking at the University of Virginia’s Darden Business School in Charlottesville, VA, on the subject of “Emerging Applications” as part of the Darden Technology Conference.

The whole gang — literally, the entire company — is headed to everybody’s favorite Web conference, SXSW Interactive, in mid-March. I’m moderating a panel on Tuesday, March 13, on the crowd-pleasingly provocative subject of “Bust 2.0: Ten Years Later, Where Will We Be?” Joining me on the panel are some very intelligent folks: Michael Sippey from SixApart, Dave Hornik from August Capital, Gina Bianchini from Ning, Eric Hellweg from Business 2.0, and Narendra Rocherolle from 30Boxes. Thor’s also moderating a panel that same morning on “Customer Service is the New Marketing.” We promise to make ‘em both great — and, we promise to be handing out Satisfaction schwag by then.

After that you can find me at the Information Architecture Summit in Las Vegas, March 22-26, where I’ll be participating on a panel about Start-up Case Studies. Then, in May, we’re all over Portland: meet up with our superstar developer Scott at RailsConf 2007 from the 17th to the 20th, and I’ll be giving a talk at WebVisions 2007, May 3-4, on the subject of “New methods for the design and development of web apps,” sharing my experience working with the (incredibly fast and iterative) team we’ve got here.

Hope to see you!

Lane — Looking forward to your SXSWi panel. If you’re interested, drop me a line and I’ll treat you to a social beverage when you get here. We can talk about Plan II life back in the day . . . or maybe something that’s actually, y’know, interesting! Cheers. TW
