I love blogs and blogging, but I’ve not always had luck with blogging software. I blew up my last Wordpress blog doing an upgrade. If I were smarter, I’d have been able to figure out how to restore it, but I’m not smarter. There is only so much room in my head for PHP. What I really need is some support around blogging tools.
So do a lot of other people, including folks who use Six Apart’s blogging software. About a year ago, the Get Satisfaction section for Six Apart got going, with one customer asking four questions in rapid succession. They were all pretty quickly answered by a Six Apart employee, and they’ve been rolling along ever since. They have an impresive 52 people on our site helping out.
I think bloggers are a great fit for Get Satisfaction. Some of them are extremely good resources for help, inspiration, and advice. I’m not one of those resources, but I love knowing there’s a place where I can probably find one.
After using our site for the past year, the TypePad folks at Six Apart decided they wanted to try out our Premium services. We’ve set them up, and they’ve already added 5 Champions, our new designation for a company’s favorite and most helpful customers. (The Champions feature is still in beta, but contact me if you have a paid account and I’ll try to fit you into the beta testing: eric [at] getsatisfaction [dot] com.)
